In the second gallery, The Human Journey, visitors can follow 15,000 years of biographical depiction and interpretation, from the caves of Lascaux to the technologies and interpretations of today: film, television, radio and CD-ROM. The gallery will highlight the work of many of the most significant biographical artists of history, from the Epic of Gilgamesh to the biographical/autobiographical works of Xenophon, Plutarch, Suetonius and Tacitus, St Augustine, Vasari, Johnson, Boswell, Rousseau, Froude, Mrs Gaskell, Morley, Leslie Stephen, Gosse, Freud, Strachey, Woolf, Gance, Graves, Orwell, Welles, de Beauvoir, Bullock, Capote, Ellmann, Lean and Attenborough.
